The Slytherin Common Room is the darkest, coldest place in all of Hogwarts castle. It looks like a large stone crypt accented with torches, three large stone fire places, and a few pieces of imported, hand crafted furniture from Romania. Above the center fire place hangs an enormous painting of Salazaar Slytherin, the house founder, coiled about his legs is a rather larger, rather nasty looking basilisk. Beside each of the three fire places are large pewter serpent statues with fangs and forked tongues showing. If a student pulls on the 6th serpent's tongue to the left a secret passage way will open up on the far wall leading to the dorms. Should a student pull the wrong tongue and they will find themselves without a hand or probably dead. The statue will spring to life and bite the hand that bothered it before returning to it's post.
