No New Posts The Leaky Cauldron

Located in London, the Leaky Cauldron plays host to all manner of witches and wizards both local and international. The toothless old barman, Tom, is quite pleasant and is always willing and happy to rent out one of the affordable and nice rooms up the wooden stairs. The main room consists of the bar and an assortment of tables where patrons can sit and relax with a good book or enjoy a nice hot meal. Err...don't order the pea soup, and if you do, make sure you eat it before it eats you. Upon exiting the Leaky Cualdron through the back door one can open the entrance to Diagon Alley after tapping the appropriate bricks with their wand.

No New Posts Slug and Jiggers Apothecary

The first shop along the cobblestone street of Diagon Alley is the apothecary. There are many barrels and tubs outside the shop filled with rather grisly looking items including beetle eyes and 5 knuts a scoop. Inside the dusty shop the sights and smells are enough to make even the bravest and strongest of stomachs queasy. Jars, phials, flasks, jugs, pots, barrels, tubs, boxes, and bags all stuffed with thousands of different kinds of ingredients that are used in every kind of potion imaginable can be found lining the shelves or in rows on the floor in the apothecary.

No New Posts Quality Quidditch Supplies

Before the Quidditch World Cup posters of Bulgaria and Ireland were plastered all over the windows and the walls of the shop. Now that hte cup is over, posteres of the Irish International team are plastered over the Bulgarian posters. Inside the shop, there is everything Quidditch related and anything that can be customized to become Quidditch related. The shop specializes in Quidditch equipment used for the sport at a decent price. However they have a wide selection of muggle style clothes with team logos and everything else imaginable in stock as well.

No New Posts Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlor

Located across the street from Madam Malkin's Robe Shop, Florean Fortescue's is run by the namesake, Florean Fortescue himself. He's a rather jovial man and loves providing information on all sorts of historical events if only asked. His ice cream is the best in Britain and there's always enough for several helpings. His ice cream sundaes are legendary and are best when enjoyed on a nice day outside at one of the tables under the brightly colored umbrellas. Inside Florean's is where patrons come to order their ice cream and sometimes eat it inside if it's a rainy day. However, no matter what the whether, inside or outside, these sundaes and hundreds of ice cream flavors uplift anyone's mood.

No New Posts Flourish and Blotts

The latest releases in the wizarding world are on display in the front window of Flourish and Blotts. There is also a medium sized note taped to the door that says Flourish and Blotts carries all the books required for Hogwarts Students. Inside Flourish and Blotts, walking space is limited. Shelf after shelf are crammed full of books of all titles and subjects. What doesn't fit on the shelves is piled precariously high in stacks that go from floor to ceiling or on tables in multiple piles. If you give the clerk your school list he will pick out your books for you and ring them up back at the counter in the very back of the store. There is also a narrow staircase that leads to a second level that is half the size of the first level. The darker and more advanced spell books, not to mention some of the more obscure spell books can be found up here.

No New Posts Gringotts Wizard Bank

Towering above all the other shops is an Alabastor building that seems to be glowing whether it is storming or sunny. Inside Gringotts resembles an early 1900's or earlier prestigious London bank. Tiled marble floors, crystal chandaliers, high sprawling mahogany desks, elaborate pillars and a set of double doors made of mahogany that are carved with intricate designs at the far end of this long main room all make up the majesty of this building. The tellers behind the desks are not wizards or witches but goblins. Clever as they come, goblins, but they are not the friendliest of creatures, it's best to remain polite, courteous and professional while in their presence. The aforementioned carved double doors lead to the carts that are used to take people to their vaults. There's no sense in trying to steal anything. Even if you did you wouldn't be able to to find your way back out to civilzation anyhow.

No New Posts Gambol and Japes Joke Shop

The ultimate emporium for the practical joker in all. Gambol and Japes is run by the namesakes and the shop stands as the standard that all other joke shops must meet. In order to reach Gambol and Japes one must go down a set of four steps and then make their way into the shop. Wandering about the shop unalert could be hazardous to ones health. Fanged Frisbees, nose biting tea cups, Hiccup Sweets, Belch Powder, Dung bombs, stink pellets, Screaming Yo-Yos, Whizzing Worms, Non-Explodable Luminous Balloons, Frog Spawn Soap, Ever Bashing Boomerangs, Self-Shuffling Playing Cards, Grow Your Own Warts Kits, and Filibuster's Wet Start-No Heat Fireworks are only some of the items that can be found here among the shelves of this dimly lit but still VERY popular shop. Most of the items available here have been banned by Filch but that never stops students from bringing them in or having them sent to them.

No New Posts Mr. Ollivander's Makers of Fine Wands Since 382 BC

The peeling paint and dirty windows of this dusty but highly respected shop only attests to how long it has been in Diagon Alley. A single wand on a velvet pillow is displayed in the window. Inside Ollivander's, the shelves and most of the sitting and standing room is crammed haphazardly with long thin boxes containing wands of all lengths, woods, and cores. The shop is owned and run by Mr. Ollivander himself, who is a rather strange old wizard but is well liked, highly respected and very very talented at his craft.
