No New Posts Muggle Studies

Probably the most useless of subjects at Hogwarts, Muggle Studies deals with exactly what that, Muggles. The classroom is full of odd things called computers, television sets, spark plugs, extention chords, videos, muggle toys and games. There is no magic allowed in this room, everything must be done the "muggle way." In front of the rows of the desks there is the professor's stand where class is taught from and a table to put muggle objects on, behind that is a black board filled with all sorts of diagrams showing muggles lifting heavy objects and describing things that they do without magic.

No New Posts Defense Against the Dark Arts

If you ask any of the students at Hogwarts what their favorite class or at least what their most interesting class is they would most likely say Defense Against the Dark Arts, located on the first floor. The job of Defense Against the Dark Arts professor seems to be cursed and has been ever since anyone can remember and the position is also coveted by the Potions Master, Severus Snape. Any person who comes in to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts only ever lasts for the year and then either dies in the case of Professor Quirrel, goes insane in case of Gilderoy Lockhart, or decides to resign in the case of the latest professor, Remus J. Lupin, a werewolf but essentially an excellent professor. This year the famous retired auror, Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody has come out of his retirement to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts. The classroom differs from year to year but always has a wall of windows on the left side of the room that provides light to the rows of desks in the middle of the room. In front of the room there is a podium where the professor can teach class and a series of chalkboards, text books, and diagrams of spells, hexes, jinxes and other forms of dark magic.

No New Posts History of Magic

The History of Magic class is probably the most boring class for Hogwarts students, learning about Goblin rebellions and when certain charms and spells were invented and about famous witches and wizards. It is taught be the only spectral professor at Hogwarts, Professor Binns. The History of Magic classroom is usually darkened and lit by faint torch light so students can actually see Professor Binns in his faithful armchair where he teaches class. Desks are set in stadium style on three tiers, the highest being closest to the door where students enter History of Magic. Professor Binns on the other hand floats through the chalkboard from the room adjacent to the classroom which is his office.

No New Posts Professor McGonagall's Office

Located on the first floor with a view of the courtyard used for the first year flying lessons is Professor McGonagall's office. Professor McGonagall is a stern, severe woman, the Head of Gryffindor House, the Transfiguration Professor, and Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts and her office, which is reached by by going to the first floor, through the door and proceeding down the left corridor to the door at the very end on the right hand side, reflects the amount of importance and seriousness of her positions. Inside her office the side walls are lined with shelves holding all sorts of books, manuscripts and records, her desk is adjacent to the left wall just to the side of the large window in her room. This is not a place you want to be if you are in trouble, it's best to come in on your own accord or happy terms.
